It's a great piece for a first!
As far as the stripes, on the torso they're fine, mostly just on the thigh that they're a little out of control. Otherwise, I like the proportions and the pose. The curvature and weighting of the tail in particular is quite nice. I like that she looks like she's anticipating something, too, which makes one wonder just what's out of frame that she's looking at.
