This is the difference inking makes. I have decided to ink this one at high resolution to add more detail. The color final will be very useful as a character sheet for almost everyone at once. That will make drawiing them a little more efficient in the future. My clothing is getting more complex, but I don't want to make it overly so.
Thanks for your patience while I explore this style. :3

For three characters like this would be about 40 - 45, another ten for a background. Right now, I am trying to get back into my artistic groove as the birth of my son (over a year ago) derailed my free time something fierce! Commissions take a little longer as a result.
My quality is still improving, as I intend to do more practice.

I for one thought it was a fair quote for a lot of detail over 3 characters... I think sometimes people forget that inked linework can take a long time, and that said time has to be taken from something else you'd have been doing. Even cutting off at the knee, I personally would have allocated at least 2 hours per character for clean lines with fancy costumes, giving you approximately US minimum wage. Hard to argue with that :)
Ultimately it's about artistic opinion. Some value art differently, and look for something very specific. When they say "no, that's not 45 dollars worth" they mean it's not what they see as 45 dollars worth. Something from their favorite artist might be worth that. Or something in brilliant multilayer coloring. But for whatever reason, this individual didn't care to pay that much, and that's absolutely fine. :3 There are others who will and do, including myself. Because I think someone else's art is worth what I am paying for it. ^^
