(School Work) Animal Symbolism: The Lioness
This is a tonal drawing for sculpture class. We are to integrate an animal with a sculpture portrait of ourselves in clay. Kind of spiritual I suppose.

-Letting go of stress
-Strong family ties
-Courage
-Energy
-Ferocity
-Royatly
-Dominion
-Justice
-Wisdom
-Assertion of the Feminine
-Power of the Female Sun
I think it suits me!
This was good practice . I rarely do anything in graphite so I had fun and it was different. Id like to do more.
Oh, and I'm just going to state now that: yes, we are required to use reference images in 99.9% of our illustration projects at school. They will beat us senseless and steal our marks if we don't use reference. So uh, yes this was photo referenced from a few images.
When I have some time Id really like to do some animal symbolism illustrations =)

do I get this right, you are supposed to create a clay self-portrait what also includes a portrait of any animal of your choice or something? sounds very interesting. will there be pictures of the finished product?
