M'Ria the Cait
So my thing of the week is Caitians, a Star Trek alien race that was re done by Bernard Doove in the Chakat Universe. While I haven't watched much of Star Trek, or read many of the books on Chakat's Den, I do enjoy the species :3
This young female cait who was born in the stars is a bit of a rebel, from dying her mane and tail, to casually sleeping with a few of the cremates on their ship. Her mother, the first wife, had drilled her with knowledge to prepare the young cait on becoming the perfect first wife. M'Ria didn't want to become a first wife, or get tied down quite yet. Leaving her family's ship as soon as she passed her coming of age ceremony, M'Ria, or also called Maria by her non-caitian friends, tried her paw at the real world on her own. She attended Dew Claw and successfully got her teaching degree.
Unable to find a stable job on account of her wanderlust decided to go back to Star Fleet, like her parents. Upon being excepted, she requested to be on a Exploration ship, that way she could travel all around the galaxy. Thats when she came aboard the F.S.S Serendipity, currently captained by a Reynard Snowtip, a newly promoted foxtaur tod. It had seemed as though a large majority of the crew had applied for transfers soon after the tod was given title as captain, leaving a number of available positions open.
While M'Ria is still currently unmated, she does have her own casual fun with the other crew members aboard the ship, some ranging from male and female Morphs and Humans, to the Captain and Chief Medical Officer, Lykala of the house of Red Paw. What can she say? She likes a little variety in life.

The foxtaur has good intentions, and later becomes a good captain, but the crew had their stereotypes before that. The people who left are those who think that he is too young, will be easily influenced by females (since thats how foxtaurs are races) or have a beef against morphs in general. The previous captain was a human, James South, and he was a good, fair man. He ended up leaving after his son, Vox, was born, as he wanted to spend more time with his new family... Some people just don't like change I guess...
