A great destruction once rained down over this sacred forest, many wept over the destruction sewn. But few know of the true tenacity of nature like this lone protector knows it.
After much time, a great many fears faced, and a great many technical challenges confronted, I have -finally- completed this piece of work.
the lessons learned far outweigh the initial vision I had with this piece, I may have bit off a bit more than I could yet chew, but I enjoy how this looks, and enjoy the materials I was so fortuitously gifted for the express purpose of doing this with.
Thank you
dineegla for your supernatural patience in awaiting this piece. More is sure to come for your generosity and understanding.
Thank you
chikapet for your persistent encouragement throughout.
I hope this gives some insight in to where I want to go with my art.

Ahh, Thank goodness tenacity of nature. And thank goodness for your tenacity. You finished this piece, challenging as it was, pushing your skills, and now we are rewarded for your sharing of it, and you have broadened your skills!
Great work, Leo! Great attention to detail, lovely theme and subject. This is one of my favorite archetypal themes--renewal after destruction. Hope and faith, joy and beauty. It's easier to appreciate in the context of contrast. . .and you rendered that well.
On a technical note, Prismacolor brand color pencils tend to emphasize the texture of the paper, for a smoother effect, try Faber Castell Polychromos. Just a tip from a former purveyor of fine art materials. ^.^
