Oriental praying mantis! I so love those things ^^ you should try hatching them sometime

I don't know the first thing about them. Except that this one can fly. ...Sort of.

All can I believe. Entomology geek here lol. The egg sacks are sadly mistaken for spider egg sacks but the baby mantis come out like a army of itty bitty little mantis. They are actually really cool to watch and release.

Would you know how to tell the gender?

I really hope it isn't "the bigger one" because I've never seen one in person before.

On adults generally the female will have a thicker abdomin and be larger in size

I can't help it when it stares at me with those black, lifeless eyes. :P

the eyes look crystalline honestly, and i think it might have a cataract or something.

I once had a praying mantis crawl on the back of my neck wile I was driving. I gently grabbed it and threw it down on the passenger seat thinking it was a spider. I looked at it and thought "Oh, it's a praying mantis, I wasn't expecting that!"

LOL, I haven't heard "Shotgun" to mean "I want the passenger seat." in a long time. That makes me happy.

And yeah I havent heard it since I was little but my boyfriend and all his friends always shout it so I find it funny XD they're like little kids ♥
im not too scared of spiders.. I live in our basement so i see plenty of them.. some I kill(if in my way) some I leave..
but.. I get these nasty black beetles that look like they have pinchers and just.. NOPE. they die and dont even get a funeral XD I hate them.. and centipedes ;~; can you tell I'm a girl?? XDD
