Figuring out feather placement. I think I like them this way, not sure.
Altered the design a little too. I couldn't figure out where to place the jawbones, so I think I'm going to hinge them to the skull, and have the fox hold it's tail in it's mouth

This is so beautiful.
May I ask, what does "fetish" mean when used in this context? I don't mean to sound ignorant or anything but I've only ever heard it used in the kink way until recently when I've been seeing it in these types of beautiful pieces. So if you don't mind me asking, what does it mean?

I don't mind at all! It is kind of a weird word because of that, haha.
A fetish is an object which holds spiritual power. Most fetishes represent animals; especially in Native American culture, animistic and shamanistic practices. They can be a totem, a contribution to honor the animal represented, or used as a religious tool.
Many African fetishes represent(ed) fertility deities, which probably caused the word "fetish" to also mean a sexual attraction to something.
To me, the fetishes I make are made to honor the animals represented, and give them a new life. I started this one because the skull sort of "spoke" to me, and I knew it wanted me to make something special to honor it.
(Also, sorry for the late reply!)
