He doesn't look very comfortable, though I suppose they're supposed to be held like that for safety reasons?

He's comfy. I handle gators at my job and we hold them the same way, hand at the base of the throat supports and controls the head while the hand at the base of tail supports the back half of the body. The Remy facial posing, however, is a marvelous addition!
