aaaand that's what i get for not reading someone's profile info ^_^;;; sorry X3 well on the bright side it's kind of a complement if you think about it! your 3d work is so good it looks like 2d anime art! almost as if you didnt even need 3d software to pull this off! what's your inspiration!? im pretty much new to 3d modeling im starting on learning zbrush andi have alot of character modeling inspiration of my own character's i just wanted to know if there was something that trigger's your inspiration ^_^ for me it's actually music from love song's to battle theme bgm i get my character design inspiration from it and cg art and imagining random battle's ^_^ id do that for like hour's on end and then write down what i thought about as best as my words could describe what i was imagining for future refrence
Thanks. Well basically the same, whenever from music, movies or games. Inspiration and idea could come from anywhere. Its a good start, but you needed skill to execute to draw them out. 3D modeling rely on your 2D perception skill, so its crucial to learn perspective drawing, and study about light and shadows. Learning 3D you're just learning the software, if you're sense in shapes is bad, it'll going to show in your 3D too.
wow this is some great advice! i have a funny story actually! i have a friend of mine named mercwar im sure you 2 are totally different people but the advice on perspective drawing was actually suprisingly the same! have you been to college for 3d modeling? mercwar has been too fullsail academy its a great college it sounds like! also since 2d perception is definatly something i should improve on what might be some place's you'ed recomend for studying/practicing in such area's? id assume youtube's a good start for beginner's to a few intermediate study's. i should also probably learn to draw in gimp 2 more since i mostly do my art in my sketchbook.
I believe every artist will give the same advice 'Do more practice'. And yes I did specialized in 3D modeling and rigging. Youtube are one way, you could also try looking for other master's work such as Feng Zhu or Kim Jung Gi. Do continue drawing on sketchbook, because you could carry it around, and try use pen instead of pencils, relying less on erasers. That way you'll pending more time draw rather wasting time by correcting.
