Chapter 23 of Werewolf Tale.
The longest chapter so far, and another with a massive amount of recent revisions thanks to very aged dialogue and prose. Goes to show how multiple drafts really help stories develop. I may end up trimming more of this chapter out if I reread it and find something to be not necessarily, though this probably needs everything that's here to set the scene best.
As for the science in this chapter:
The Placebo Effect as defined in Wikipedia: "A placebo (play /pləˈsiboʊ/; Latin: I shall please) is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient. Sometimes patients given a placebo treatment will have a perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition, a phenomenon commonly called the placebo effect."
And about.com: "When a treatment is based on a known inactive substance like a sugar pill, distilled water, or saline solution rather than having real medical value, a patient may still improve merely because their expectation to do so is so strong."
Might be stretching the rules a bit, but in this case, it works.
Enjoy.

He did, though he doesn't realize all the fine details yet.
But if you mean that paragraph after where he says "I hope it does"... Yeah, I just realized that was a break in continuity from a while back, and how odd it sounds as a result. I'll have to reword that.
Thanks for pointing that out.
