Aagh, this reminds me of a cartoon I saw as a kid, I can't remember the name of it, which had a Nightmare in it and it was an evil black horse. I used to be pretty scared of it.

THANKFULLY this doesn't scare me. I really love the smokey placement in this one

I think that was Rainbow Brite. Cartoon from the 80's. Can't remember if Nightmare was a good horse turned bad then good again, or if he/she was a recurring character. Black with red mane and eyes. Can't even remember the plot surrounding him/her. I am also unsure of gender of the character. I was told it was a 'he' as a kid, and being a precocious 5 year old I was incensed that a boy horse was named a 'mare'. Wow, there's some nostalgia. :D
