Be wary of projectile spamming - a veteran knows how to turn it against you... even if they don't have a reflector.
Also, always take terrain and possible items into consideration.
However, as a good tip, you can power-spam Fox's neutral B in Home Run Contest to get over 1000ft with little problem in both Brawl and Melee.
