These monsters are born of primal, irrational fears. Fears of darkness, of spiders, of certain animals, of water, fire, clowns, etc. Although they are considered low threat creatures in general, they can become much larger and more powerful if they are not destroyed early. A small fear can fester, and grow to such immense power that it dominates all other thoughts.
