I'm not sure really! I spend a couple of days on it..I havent had much time to draw for myself lately, so I worked on it whenever I had a bit of time..:)

I love the extreme detailing of the feathers, colors, flower and the branch. Even if you did rush on the background it works well to draw your attention to the subject matter with out taking away from it.

If I could afford it right now and if the opition were open i'd be asking about a print.

This is gorgeous and adorable. Very clever idea and great execution!

From a botanical perspective, you might want to know that hummingbirds (and presumably hummingfoxes!) are nectivorous. That is, they eat the nectar produced by the flower. This one looks like he is eating the pollen. Some pollinators actually do eat pollen, but the long tongued critters use their tongue to collect nectar from deep inside the flower.

Anyway, not criticizing, just mentioning in case you were interested in some scientific commentary. It's a fabulous piece (I faved it) :)
