The White Aedaha of Empiora
This is a revamp of an older piece. If you like the older version better, relax, it's still in my scraps. I am trying to move away from my signature color scheme, just a little. Sometimes it gets to the point where my art almost looks monochromatic and I want to branch out, try something new, experiment with new color schemes and such.
I also have a new monitor so I'm going to be going back and color correcting a few pieces. I still can't see unfortunately. It's not easy doing art when everything looks like it's vibrating. Will be going to see a neuro-ophthalmologist on January first when my insurance kicks in.

As much as I love my blues, fuchsias, and cyans, I think overuse of these colors diminishes the effects that I like so much. Those colors almost seem to glow to me like a nightlight. But what happens if you turn a nightlight on in a brightly lit room? You don't get that same affect. I plan on still using those colors but less liberally. :P I'm also seeming to like red, orange, and green lately for some reason. I never would have thought that would happen. I used to hate those colors together. XD

Really, it has been mostly a lot of tireless work, practice, and a refusal to become complacent. And of course, I always look at other artists' work to see what they are doing better than me, why I like their work more, how they solve certain problems, how they approach certain subject matter, and so on. Ha ha... I loved your work then too. Watching you develop into the fantastic artist that you've become has been a great privilege. And I know it's silly, but this is actually my favorite of all your work. Not for the artistry....though the artistry is great....but for the sheer Silverone 'in your face'ness of it.

I went back to look at the old picture before even reading your personal critique in the description about your color-scheme sometimes looking monochromatic, and I have to say I was struck by how right that was when I read it. I love your art, but now it may be a little tough to unsee that. I definitely think this is a good step in a great direction for you artistically. This version brought the original to life, by contrast.
I'm sorry to hear about your vision. I so hate that so many of the most wonderful people I know suffer so very much from varying health conditions. Please keep us all posted after your insurance kicks in. It can't be soon enough.

As for my eyes, I'm really hoping this is a correctable issue because it makes working, reading, and typing difficult. XC But, I will soldier on. Not going to let a little visual impairment stop me from doing what I love. Now if I go totally blind, that's another matter. XC

You always manage to prove me wrong when I think you're so amazing that you couldn't possibly do any better. I love both pieces, but this one really does "pop" a bit more with the change up in colours and more elaborately detailed clothing :3 Also having her a bit more close up has her stand out a bit more.

I actually prefer this coloring a lot! I agree, sometimes your work gets a bit monochromatic, even though it's my favorite color scheme too, but this palette feels more... robust? Also I'm totally digging the jewelry on her feet :) I have a question about one of your brushes/details. On the upper right side where the butterfly is, there's two delicate sprays of greenery with some floral garland type details draping from them: how do you get this effect? Is it a custom brush or a process? I've seen something like it but used for lace and sometimes icy water effects. It's seriously delicate and beautiful, I've obsessed over the effect/brush enough to ask my watchers how they'd do it.
