The internet is a series of tubes, on this we all agree. But something has to catch what comes out of those tubes, correct? That's where the dump-truck comes in. And ALL THE INTERNET-DIRT R BELONG TO SUTTER.

Because Badgers are the best. Tied only by Bears, Dragons, Draft Horses, and some Wolves. There are other amazing people out there on the internet, but they are rarer and more exceptional rather than a standard.

I've seen places that offer to print digital photos on canvas, with a "painting-like" finish. I think that could work very well with pictures like this!

A sufficiently talented furry artist could even offer it as a commission option ...

Made me think of the badger from The Wind in the Willows.

Looks like My Fursona, Thornius Weatherpink...He always has a book and a glass of wine when he relaxes in his leather easy chair...But he is cheerful...and he's an albino rat...he also LOVES the company of intelligent witty, artistically creative females of most any species...Not for yiffing per se, but just for company and philosophical discussions...

Maybe one day, if I can ever afford a new computer to handle it, I'll be able to do livestreaming X3 All I can tell you is that it takes lots of layers - not as in Photoshop layers (I had to paint this all on as few layers as possible because the file was so large my comp could barely handle it) but just painting stuff over and over kinda layers :P

How long does it take to detail the fur on an image like this?

A long, long time - but to be honest I think the clothing took longer. Getting it to look smooth, or at least to look like paintbrush strokes rather than blocky Photoshop brush strokes, took hours and hours of layering and smudging -__-

I don't feel so bad about sticking to a simpler coloring style, then. I've read a tutorial on doing "froofy" fur, but 4-6 hours is about all the patience I have when it comes to coloring a drawing.

For those who haven't seen the book before, I'll briefly explain... Candide, ou l'Optimisme, or Candide, or the Optimist is a controversial novel by the philosopher Voltaire. Voltaire never openly admitted to having written the controversial Candide; the work is signed with a pseudonym: "Monsieur le docteur Ralph", literally "Mister Doctor Ralph."

Sarcastic in attitude, it follows the naïve protagonist Candide from his first exposure to the principle that "all is for the best in this, the best of all possible worlds” and on through a series of adventures that dramatically disprove that principle even as the protagonist clings to it.
