Just when Pontiac was going back to its "building excitement" roots GM ends it for good.

I had one for a rental for a 3 week vacation in Australia a couple years ago. I don't think you can get a more Aussie experience than hopping in a Commodore for a 5000 km road trip up and down the east coast. But ohgod it ate so much $1.50/L gas. I got pocket change back from a $100 bill with each fillup.

Not sure what liking Fiat has to do with liking mopar, since, well mopar is all about big hemi V8s. X3 Something Fiat doesn't exactly have many of. X3
As for the Abarth, it's ok. It makes a great noise, but it's not actually all that fast and the short wheel base makes it ill suited for real sporty driving. However, as a city run about that do occasional back road duty, it seems decent enough. X3 Personally though I'd favor a dedicated sports car. But that's just me. XD

Well what i guess i mean by Mopar, is the Chrysler brand as a whole.
And yes, i love their sound ^^ And yes, i know they aren't perfect, but yeah in reality for what i would be using it for, i'd work perfect. But yeah for me if i want muscle id get myself a GTO, or a Trans Am ^^But I cant afford it. As Id have to have a winter car thats non RWD where I live... kinda stinks...

The original GTO was merely an option package on a stock Pontiac Tempest. You want to talk about yawntastic styling? That mid-sixties aesthetic makes one of the greatest factory hotrods about as sexy as an ice machine.
In a weird way, bringing that final GTO in with such invisible styling is a rather profound homage to the original Gran Tourism Obligato.

I'm well aware of the goat's origin. :) The fact that it's something I've always found to be a handsome car perhaps colors my opinion a bit. None the less when you saw a goat, you knew what it was right away. While the subtle looks of the final gto were fitting thematically, I would argue that it went too far into that invisible area, since you'd be hard pressed to even pick out out in traffic unless you knew exactly what you were looking for. Where as the original was handsome but understated, the final car was just, well, boring. Strictly visually speaking at least.

And THAT is what makes for a good sleeper.
My main styling gripe with the final GOaT was that its interior came in one color. Black. ugh.

The only reason GM holds on to Buick is, right now, Buick is THE prestige marque in China. GM's looking at moving close to a million Tri-Shields a year. Ever wonder why all the Buicks are so downsized nowadays? America is now the official secondary market for that marque. China is first.
