In honor of my favorite holiday rolling around the corner this month, I’m gonna be drawing some of my favorite characters/creatures from ghost stories and spooky folktales/legends.
Here’s a take on Stingy Jack, a drunkard from Irish folklore who was so vile, neither Heaven nor Hell wanted him when he died, and so now he wanders the land with the flaming ember of his damned soul inside a hollowed turnip (pretty much the origin for Jack-o-lanterns).
