ZeoNet Serviceman of the Month - U.C. 0079.12.01 [ZeoNet News - December Issue]
This week's featured service-person of Merit is Zeon Mobile Suit Pilot Lt. Renam (no first name given), a native spacer hailing from Side 6 colony and a graduate with honors of the Zeon Royal Military Academy, class of Fall 0077. Original from humble beginnings, Lt. Renam rose from rank of Ensign to full Lieutenant in just 3 short years, and is showing every sign of continuing toward achieving full Captain-hood. Lt. Renam has proven to be an exceptional pilot, having a combined total of over 1,856 hours' combat and non-combat flight experience, boasts a confirmed record of 4 Federation Space Ships destroyed (3 captured), 71 Enemy MS destroyed (1.5 captured*), 227 Armored targets destroyed, and 47 Aircraft destroyed, among numerous miscellaneous Federation ground and space units killed, captured, or destroyed.
With the recent launch of Zimmad Company's brand-new MS-09 Dom heavy assault Mobile Suit (Zeon's newest top-of-the-line fast-attack Battlefield Superiority MS) that is intended to meet and exceed the performance of any Federation-made MS designs that may be fielded within the next 3 years, first-run production units have begun to find their way into the hands of Ace pilots on all Zeon main battle fronts including Lt. Renam, who surprisingly received hers by special appointment, on the Orders of Admiral Gihren Zabi himself in recognition for her services to the Zeon homeland. She politely acceded to ZeoNet's request for a publicity photo pictured here, standing in front of the new suit, which appears to be production unit #09.
(*Note: Captured units include the partial remains of a salvaged suit, and one whole unit, that was immediately transferred to a top secret star-side R&D facility for study. The entire unit was award a distinguished service citation for their actions.)

....This picture, like the story behind it, caused much grief for me. Astute viewers will notice her eyes still aren't quite 100% right; this was the best I could get after literally an hour of experimentation, nearly resulting in me wearing a hole right through the paper from all the erasing I did; this is only the second time I've done this, but it was basically the same view/angle of her face as the first time.
The entire time, I couldn't help but think just what a beautiful character she is to draw -- strictly from an art appreciation standpoint. I've wanted for years to be able to draw her in a Uniform, and finally (partially) succeeded. The Dom was more or less thrown in as an afterthought, but the tri-corner eye system just looked too menacingly cool even when blank, to pass up a chance at drawing it again.
