I always had a concept of a Tank Girl/ Pinkamena Diane Pie-Crossover in mind. I never had that spark of inspiration though, to pull it off completely.
Two days ago, I looked at some reference pics, and when I saw this picture (http://www.kideternal.com/Jetgirl/Pictures/Wet%20Jet.JPG), I decided to scribble away randomly. At this time it was almost midnight, and all I wanted to do was a very rough draft. Next time I looked at the clock, it was almost 3 a.m., half of the picture sketched, and most of that already inked. Yesterday I worked on and off that piece for several hours to get it finished.
I think I can proudly say this is the most detailed work I've done so far. All of the Outlines and some of the shadings are solely done with a fine quill and ink. With that, I even managed to draw those tiny holes of the band-aid in her face (you can only spot those on the full view).
I had to cut down the excessive weaponry of Tank Girl's tank, because it would have distracted the focus from Pinkie. But even though I decided against this typical Tank Girl trademark, I think it was the right decision.
The picture itself is heavily referenced off of other pictures:
