So I know I’m not very good about updating but it’s honestly not because I’ve been slacking! Honest! Life’s just been kind of (read: really) crazy recently and I really don’t get much time to scan stuff or color it or anything.

To prove it to you here’s some character art for the project Entomotheist and I have been working on together (quite madly, I might add, and in a huge rush because we want to start unveiling it December-ish.)

For now you can just think of this project as “The TM” and just be excited because in a couple of months you’ll get to learn what that actually means.

Most of these are face-sketches of the character Aleisha O’Connor; it’s been incredibly difficult for me to actually draw her because 1) TEENAGE PROPORTIONS HOW DO and 2) like… fuck……. I have absolutely zero compunctions writing all the terrible things I do to this poor 14 year old but then I go to draw it and I’m like daaaaammmmmn I must have problems.

But luckily it’s been getting easier so here you go.

Top-left sketch is me trying to figure out Aleisha’s hair because she’s got Einstein hair for reelz; also a scene from the story in which Robert Kuneratwurna has finally caught Aleisha and his son Jeka has helped and things. There are a lot of feels in this scene.

Let’s be clear, here: those dudes aren’t human. THe incredibly anime hair from your darkest dreams on Robert’s head is because he’s pissed as fuck and ‘Teur still have the muscles on their scalps to make their hair stand on end. Yes, you read that correctly: when ‘Teur are angry they literally look like the bastard child of David Bowie and Cloud. And Jeka in the background? That isn’t a failure of perspective he’s literally missing half a head but that’s part of the story so I’m not telling how he lost it.

Top-right is Aleisha clinging to Kedrere Kuneratwurna’s back because that happens a shit-ton in this first story and I love the visual aesthetic and… Y’know we already established I have problems so that’s all I’m going to say.

Middle-left page is a whole bunch of Aleisha expressions and my absolute favorite is the big one where she is obviously glaring at Kedrere thinking “oh my god what an asswipe.”

Middle-right sketch is actually mostly Maggie Verger who um… Let’s just say her story arc is very complicated. There is one sketch of Aleisha because I’m already trying to figure out what she looks like in Book 2. Also I’m wondering if Maggie and Aleisha might be distantly related like cousins or something? Because they’re both from the same geographic region and they share the same heritage and have very similar personalities buuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttt I dunno

Bottom-left is more Aleisha and I really love her pouty-face but don’t tell her that she’ll hit me

The finally bottom-right is some more interaction between Aleisha and Kedrere, this time a scene that I wrote recently in which they’re standing there talking watching the bad guys completely demolish the crater the good guys are hiding in
