In honor of my favorite holiday rolling around the corner this month, I’m gonna be drawing some of my favorite characters/creatures from ghost stories and spooky folktales/legends.
The Appalachian ghost story, “The Tailypo”, always scared me as a kid (and even to this day), but then I read an illustrated adaption of it by Joanna and Paul Galdone, and really liked how creepily cute Mr. Galdone drew the creature.
Here’s my take on the titular creature scampering off, reunited with its lost tail.
