Ahh a pic that 
adf may can relate to... this was way back when TES: Oblivion was still in production (while i was quite active in the official forums and still had hope that it could turn out good) shortly after it was revealed that the beast races would just have copy and paste human bodies instead of the unique ones from morrowind... someone tried to argue that "with the bent legs they wouldnt be able to ride horses" (i´m not making that up) and shortly after there where voices like "they shouldnt be able to ride horses at all", there seemed to be a large "lets just make the beast races shitty to play" faction at work (seems like they where in charge to design them for oblivion)
After browsing through some stuff and stumbling over this pic here again http://www.furaffinity.net/view/494479/ i got the idea to draw this, i think it pretty much says all

Lol, i found this picture funny. Twas a shame that they did mess that up and made em human bodied now. I liked that originall in Morrowind as well as the werewolves. How did they get rid of that? You'd think the lycanthropy thing might have spread seeing as their perty much next door to each other, ugh! Oops, well going off subject here. Anyways, always a fan of your work and always happy to see more. Keep it up!
i know, thats the reason i dont want to play oblivion, because of the really lame argonians there. and thats the reason why i keep playing morrowind with argonians only, regardless wich class. over and over again (mostly thief anyway, stealing things and picklocking rules!^^ )

Also recall the bitching I got from one of the Devs for daring to suggest they did it for ‘development convenience'?
Probably the only time I made one of the developers angry, they went on this rant on there being loads of new animations in the game that everyone is going to love and keeping the beast races the same would requires two copies of each one. Which pretty much confirmed my argument that they did it to reduce the workload, but remember these great animations? Those stiff, rag doll like, 25fps hand waving and eating animations? The ones the Dev diaries claimed they made them do over and over again until they were ‘perfect’? Yeah, really added to the game, along with the radiant AI they were created for.
What’s a shame is if The Elder Scrolls doesn’t offer your beast race role playing experience what else is there? The few games that offer playable lizard characters tend to me MMOs and treat them as stereotypical dumb/evil monsters.
Again great job on the image, I hope I get good enough one day to be able to make similar statements in drawing.

That is a really strange BS claim the developers made. It sounds more like a case of being mentally lazy and not wanting to work out riding animations for every creature.
If anything, springy jacklegs seem more reasonable to me for riders than stiff monkey legs. I have done doodles working that out for RPG character pics... Hmm I wonder if i can still find them...

Funny timing, I just started playing Morrowind again the other day after deciding to start fresh and wiping out my collection of mods. I remember feeling pretty shafted when I discovered that my Khajiit assassin couldn't wear boots or closed helms when I first started playing years ago. Tried a couple mods that added modified beastie boots you could buy, but I eventually just resorted to giving them "normal" bodies.
I think they look cool either way ... makes me wonder if there's a "beast bodies" mod for Oblivion, though ...

Sadly doubt there is as it would requier to completely redo the animation system for them
I didnt think the more human beast races looked that good... specially because the faces look like something out of a Tim Burton movie... (they are actually just a VERY human base shape stretched long)

Dont quote me on this, but I think someone did make a mod to give the beast races back their digigrade legs. But like I said, dont quote me cause I cant remember where I saw it or when for that matter.
But yeah, some people have their heads up their asses. If anything, the longer, extra jointed legs would let them be more effective at rideing, since they could hold onto the horses with their legs alot easier without the need of stirups.
Kinda reminds me of the stink about taurens in WoW. At first it was decided they were too heavy to ride mounts (which honestly made sense) so they got an ability where they could run as fast as a mount. Then people started complaining it made them too powerful (wtf!) since they didnt need mounts. So insted they were given the ugliest mount in the game..

Hey, we must have been on those forums at around the same time back then! I agree with you completely. I tried my best to like Oblivion even though they ruined Argonians, but I just wound up going back to Morrowind. It's such a shame so many people preferred the humanoid bodies. I remember being on the forums before the game came out, when I put up a thread saying I was concerned about the humanoid change, and everyone else just didn't care. I share your pain! :<

Oblivion's not so bad once you mod it heavily, I've mod improved my character's muzzle, and tail and I don't ride horses since I got the HAWT "Akatosh mount" mod installed so I fly everywhere on wyvern-back. The mod that lets me slap people with a slaughter fish helps too! ;)
That said I still think that Morrowind was essentially a better game. certainly lasts longer unless you cheat and skip major parts of the main quest of course.
Main things annoy me about it
1) Where have all the spears gone? I want my Halberd back!
2) crossbows? I mean I always thought CB's were the human style with the elves being the longbow specialists...
3)Axes, BLUNT weapons? WTF? (I've done some rp with real axes, they are NOT like swinging a hammer.)
4)Nice move combining all blades to one skill, now all daggers are completely pointless as any character who can use one could just as easily use a claymore! :P
5) cyrodiil is supposed to be the heart of the empire, why does it look like a frontier forrest? Where is the farmland needed to feed all these people?
6)Why are there no roads linking to the rest of the empire? They should have put in roads leaving the game world, block them sure, but at least show there is some connection to the rest of the world!
7) simplified armour, I liked being able to pimp my Pouldrons! and now with the stupid 85 point cap light armour is just as good as heavy once you max the skills for wearing it.

I loved Morrowind :3 loved the story and loved being an Argonian, but the new stuff isn't that bad. I loves how you can mess around with scale color patterns and get an orange underbelly and black all else look :3
I also LOOOVED Tennaiiva from the Dark Brotherhood missions! I wanna be a shadowscale! Once a day you can turn invisible, who wouldn't want that?

i've never played the series but i did work in a video game store for a while and from what i was able to glean, this is one of those "you mess with the 'formula' and heads will roll" series. Either way, a knowledge of the game, while making the pic funnier, is not required to appreciate the pic itself or just the baseline funny factor.

i can totally understand the irritation from those people =/ it really did seem like they want to make anything not really human looking suck. and have you taken a close look at the argonian's backs? xD i swear it looks like the worst case of back acne in the world. that or worts.

My guy, Daeshuus Llvidicuus is a cross breed of dunmer, and Argonian. after a long long time of doing so, you get my dude. A black argonian, who wears Asassins creed armor in black w/ white lining. He's got some red marks, but he's B A. Check out my stuff, to see him. nothin' yet, but there will be.
