Compared to the last page, this came out in a relatively short period of time. While I tried to pay more attention to having a more unified color palette, things still somehow seem a bit too artificial for my liking. It's pretty fortunate that I can get away with this stuff on an irreverent action/comedy project like Jewel Vixens, cause it wouldn't work on serious stuff.

Perhaps, when the characters are interacting in a closed interior, you could use darker colors on the background in order to build up a nice atmosphere. For example in an oriental restaurant you could use a very simple reddish palette and play around with only a couple of colors (like three or four tones of the same color) while bringing out the details with subtle highlights.
Your lineart itself is so detailed that I don't think it's always necessary to color all the details separately, you could still see them even if you colored over the lines.

Hmm... you know, you're right. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I just need to add some more darkness to my scenes, particularly interiors. As for tones of the same color, though, how do you mean exactly? Do you mean colors that are all red, just darker or lighter, or congruent colors that simply go with red, like brown and yellow?
You seem plenty articulate to me, and from what I've seen you've got a better grasp on the English language than some of my fellow Americans do... yeah, kinda scary, I know.
I get the gist of what you're saying, though. I might keep that in mind for the future. I'll be doing some more interior shots on more current pages and hopefully I can keep things in a bit more contrast.
