Absolutely beautiful, gasp. The color palette in this is just brilliant. Very organic, with the character almost blending in with the surroundings, noticeable, but also sinking in a little. Those bright splashes of purple to distract helps to push the character even deeper into the canvas.
And love the Kubrick-style arrangement here. Great depth to this picture, and your lighting is both natural and evocative. There's a great contrast between the mathematical symmetry of the framing and the tense pose of the character. Somehow despite all this serene, quiet and safe-looking beauty, he looks startled, or maybe fearful of something on the other side of that wall. That makes this a lot more thoughtful than just a pretty picture.
I think the only thing I'm not totally digging is the way the windows are handled. The lighting and the elbow on the sill implies that they're open windows without glass, but the way you've painted them appears to have detail right in front instead of looking deep into the space beyond it. That's probably just part of the speed painting, but to me, it's a knock back from the otherwise rich sense of depth in the picture.

Ahh yeah, now that you mention it, it does seem almost like something is covering the window; like the light is coming in through a sheet of paper or something.
The windows had been one of the last things I'd done on the piece and I kinda had just been wanting to get it done at that point lol
I am glad the figure does seem more like he's startled or nervous, when working on it I'd been worried that it kinda just looked more like he was just casually looking over his shoulder or something haha

This is a really stunning piece and an excellent use of textures. I'm really loving the environment with the contrast between the natural foliage and the ruined concrete structure along with the character sitting in contemplation; it looks and feels very natural and the lighting is very, very nice.
there's a story behind this... a time long after mankind had wiped itself out by bombs, over the course of thousands of years, the anthropomorphic creatures came into being.. upon discovering the ruins of mankind, they think these structures were built by the gods or something... makes me wonder... what will we leave behind for the next species to uncover...?
I keep coming back to this image - the atmosphere of it really pulls at my heart, though I'm at a loss of words on how to describe the feeling.
You handled the depth and colour of this masterfully. Masterfully! How much would something like this cost if I were to approach you for a commission should I miraculously have money to spare one of these days?
