This idea came while listening to some Halo music vid and well evolved from there. So here we have a genetically engineered soldier in three outfits. Seeing as this guy is part of a completely separate human culture I'll do a codex entry on that.
Sylva is the second planet in orbit of it's parent star Alpha Centauri B. The system was colonized in the year 2196 after the development of the Ashima Drive system enabling speeds of up to 50% of light speed. With the new drive a ship was developed to carry over 300,000 Colonist to Sylva in stasis for the 10 year journey. Sylva itself was a prime world for colonization. While being habitable the planet it seemed had just undergone a mass Extinction event which had wiped out approximately 90% of the planet's indigenous flora and fauna. This enabled the colonist to set up a fairly Earth like environment on Sylva. At a mere .96 Earth Mass Sylva required no significant alteration for immediate colonization. Sylva proved to be a successful colony world developing rapidly within it's first 20 years. The planet was mineral rich as where it's two small moons. As time went on the Sylva society and culture developed and it became clear that they were departing from old Terran ways. Sylva was founded as a world wide nation and it's government set up to root out those seeking power or money. This was ensured by various positions being filled by those who were genetically tailored for the task. Arbiters were those engineered to oversee and negotiate within the governing body. The best interest of their people was an inborn instinct which drove their perspective wanting the best for the people of Sylva. Meanwhile the Sylva military also saw this practice with it's soldiers. Genetically tailored for their role with enhanced strength, senses, healing factor, reflexes, intelligence, but also designed to not act as blind soldiers. Dr. Amanda Heart once stated. "If we wanted something that would just blindly follow orders we'd just use robots. These men are designed to weigh their actions, refused unethical orders, and hold superiors accountable. Beyond that they're inclined genetically and through training to be loyal to the people of Sylva first and foremost." Beyond this Sylva also instituted a policy of genetic augmentation to the general populaces as well. Within 2 centuries life spans had more than doubled and various genetic ailments had been eliminated
Sylva today stands as a shining beacon of progress and advancement being the center technological development of all stripes and the world to develop the first FTL drive system enabling humanity to slowly begin exploring the stars. This has lead to a boom not only for Sylva's economy but for that of the old Sol System as well opening the door for closer relations and cross system tourism
Log Entry,
Commander Archival Renstone.
"Well it's yet another fairly dull day here on GateWay station. Being out here near Proxima we get a lot of traffic from the Sol system and a lot of our own ships. Looks like traffic out to the systems is using GateWay station as a last stop before heading out to explore. I might sign on as security for an exploration vessel one of these days. As it stands I'm thinking at the moment I might take some leave time and visit Earth. Never been there before. I hear it gets a little crowded but that there are lots of things to see and do. That and I figure I should see the old world that spawned humanity at least once in my life time. Heh. I remember reading about it as a kid in my bunk at night. Back then I would have never thought I'd have to chance. FTL being new and all. I thought the only way I'd see Earth is if if the old Terran Nations lost their minds and wanted to go to War. Anyway I might ask my brother John if he wants to join me. I mean he deserved to get away from the Senate once in a while. Still funny he ended up a politician but hey even with gene engineering ya still get outliers. Knew Sam wouldn't stick with us for too long. She got waaay into her science courses. Last I heard she was working to improve FTL systems. Bet she'll succeed. Well guess I'm rambling now. I'm gonna end here and go relax a bit. Been meaning to watch that Paleontology documentary John sent me."
Well hope you guys liked the pic and the lil story.
