Hello again,
today I decided again to ditch a bit of the work that I'm doing around ww2 and focused a bit in the Lume universe that I'm gluing together.
Lume is a multiverses in Portuguese Fire or Plasma Plume.
The realm of Lume is under a eternal curse of being in a never ending war. Over the ages the inhabitant of Lume developed this characteristic looks. But this doesn't make them less humane...well they are a bit devilish. But the point of the story is that in war specially a never ending one there is always place to equilibrium of human and inhuman behavior. I like to think that a monster... the homicidal and psychopathic kind, aren't very adept of having children so being the second and third generation of warrior would be more and more mentally stable and resistant to psychological trauma. Of course this would make them more aggressive and more animal like.( animals are pretty stable and can adapt to human war times.) Also another good point to the story is the parallelism of having it compared to our never ending, every more competitive world. I think I want to make this grey characters surprise the reader when they show what they were not expecting compassion, love and affection.
One of the traits of this characters is handicaps and upgrades. Because they live in a war they loose and replace parts of their bodies, almost like a Kafkian metaphor they adapt and change physically and mentally. Another author that think that influences me in this story in Nietzsche because there a lot of cold truths in this world and a lot of mistakes based on over confidence, wrong judgement and stereotypical valuation of character.
Latelly in been focus in studying book Dante's Divine Comedy since it reflect a bit in architecture what I want to do. Also around this theme I found a very interesting artist known as Wayne Barlowe were I found a lot of really neat stuff. Also found today this artist
beastofoblivion or Lock that is developing a project very similar to mine hopefully I found it in time of not making worlds collide.
I still developing the story I'm still searching the feeling that I have about it with out much concern about pinning down the story
All the characters names are in Portuguese and I don't have a background story on them. Only some ideas on Corisco... he is a "bit" brain damaged he was infused with magic essence when a magic shrapnel entered his brain (he was attacked with a Magic granade/mine/bombarda) so now he doesn't talk much or express much feeling and have to be taken care by Centelha his sister, but other wise he is terrifyingly powerful. Centelha have a deep nose and neck wound so she have a protective helmet, she also have a artficial leg. Fogo and Fusco are highly upgraded warrior, one is mr perfect with god complex and the other is a bit like Rochard at the Watchmen, a bit crazy and grumpu but deepdown decent.
what doesn't kill makes us stronger and more strange
Prints also avaible here at deviantArt my deviantArt page
I'm open to questions so please feel free to ask
