Quite interesting, those interactions between werewolves!
I tend to compare it a bit to dogs when I read your story:
a growling dog that has its tail tucked between its hindlegs, head lowered, ears flat, and its hackles raised; is often a dog which is afraid and nervous I think. Kind of a warning system against other dogs. =p

Thanks. Glad I went back and fixed this chapter up looking back on it now.
And you're right. That's how frightened canines behave. If they're really submissive though, from what I've seen, they instead try and appease or stay away from the dominant ones, if not make themselves look weaker somehow.

Thank you.
And it's interesting that you mention that, because the story that got this one kickstarted and revived back in 2011 was exactly that idea. Just when Alex had a year's experience of being a werewolf versus two months.
Otherwise, I haven't decided yet if during the sequel he does the same thing.

After going back and reading the comments on the previous chapters, I'm torn. I really don't like waiting and want to know what happens next, so denying the urge to hop over to DA and read the unrevised version is difficult; however, I really prefer well structured writing, and I'm afraid i might be too distracted by potentially unedited mistakes to properly enjoy the rest of the story. So thank you for writing a story good enough that I'm actually willing to wait.
Not saying you have those mistakes, just don't want to risk checking cause whether they are there or not, once I've started reading ahead i won't be able to stop.

You're welcome, and I'm glad to hear it. Fingers crossed that the ending pays off as best I can make it.
As for the NaNo original on DA, the final few chapters were where I hit the tonal sweet spot I was aiming for since I started writing this in 2011. Of course, that meant the rest of the work didn't feel like a good match to how things ended, and hence the multiple revisions. This one is meant to iron out all the kinks of the progression I can find, which includes dialogue, revelations and things like that, while making sure I don't mess with later stuff too much.
Not as hard as it sounds, but until I get a copy editor on this, I won't know for certain if I caught all the tiny connections.

I ended up not being able to wait and read what you've got on your DA, and I gotta say, what you have is pretty awesome. I also read the short you mentioned about Halloween, and a couple parts were hilarious. I would have commented on DA, but don't really use it much so Id never see a response. My only complaint? I selfishly want you to say screw anything else and just write more of the story.
Thanks. Always great to hear. Otherwise, couldn't resist, huh? *smiles* That old story is still a joy to go back to; even though I want to fix it up sometimes, it works as a way to see how much my writing has improved since the 2011 NaNo.
For what's coming in the sequel, I could...but like Werewolf Tale during my NaNo days, I make sure the story has an ending and a few major plot points in place before I really move forward. It helps prevent continuity issues, and puts a guide and stopping points in place. Happy to say that I've got one ending in mind though, and I'll do my best to make what's coming great.
