A piece commissioned back in 2012 at RMFC (Rocky Mountain FurCon) that only just recently got finished.
"Patience, my love. If they seek our home, they can enjoy the jog before they return to the Earth with more holes to breathe from."
In the tune of the Fallout series, Raine is geared up with her favorite revolve and her leather armor, ready to defend what is left of her apocalypse-scarred home. Naturally at her side is Jalen, her faithful companion and pet. Neither bandits nor mutants nor any other creature could shake the two from defending what was left of their corner of the Colorado Wasteland, and rightfully so! They will fight to the death to defend their home soil, irradiated as it may be, as well as protecting each other from the dangers that walk that charred, dead ground. Whoever these two are ready to fight have no idea what they're getting into...
Thankfully, neither suffer the ignorance of the companion AI from the game, so both aren't dying anytime soon, I assure you. :P
My only beef with the art was the time it took to get it. CanineHybrid, you did a wonderful job. I just hope whatever had you all out of whack and/or distracted got resolved and you're doing alright.

I honestly don't remember them being much better in the isometric Fallouts, at least in Tactics you had more control. You -could- give them patterns in Fallout 1 and 2, but that didn't stop them from running out a perfectly defendable room or bursting while you were in front of them. The dogs were..generally not that dangerous to have around and added some character. Dogmeat <3
Fantastic, I'm so glad you enjoyed the final result of the piece! My apologies once again for the delay in getting around to finishing it and I hope that it was all worth the wait in the end. I Am definitely doing much better on my end now, thank you ^^ I hope that I did Raine justice for you, I definitely try my best to pay attention to capturing character details.
Also, loved your story description! I think it adds a lot to the piece :D
