Well here is the thing, and thankyou Ira Glass for pointing it out so I am gonna paraphrase. You have good taste, otherwise you would not consider your present work to be so bad. However your artist ability is not yet equal to your level of taste so you consider your work inferior. Though the only way you will be able to reach your level of taste and to produce a large volume of art work. Practice makes perfect, it really does.
