My triumphant return to the Thursday Prompt! This also happens to be the story mentioned in my last submission.
Anyways, much inspiration can be credited to Philip Jose Farmer, glorious hack that he is. I feel comfortable writing in this particular style because Lovecraft did not crawl out of his grave and strangle August Derleth, but I added the small plea of appeasement at the top just to be on the safe side.
Enjoy!

You heard very correctly! Even though the Book of Eibon is technically a creation of Clark Ashton Smith, Lovecraft used it numerous times as well. That's the beauty of the Mythos, I guess; it's loose enough to apply to almost any story you write, but so well-recognized that people can have an easier time getting into it. Thank you very much!
Quite... grand. Spectacular. I was a bit lost time to time, although I noticed the reference to the Horned King, right after the anecdote to the ancient Giant Deer. The story is very well written, intense, even poetic, it was able to create great images into my head. Great piece, I truly enjoyed reading this.
