Oh, yeah, I want to thank all the pirates... no! not those bad ones that used to rob the ships. I wanna thank those nice guys who copy disks, crack programs and write generators. They made my life much cheaper and I think it's unfair that they are pursued by the government. Without them I wouldn't be able to listen to my favourite bands whose authentic disks can't be found in my country at all.... or at least in my town, and I don't mention that almost all the programs that I use came from them. I don't care if it's illegal, I won't be buying authentic disks with music, programs or games till they are at least thrice cheaper than now.
As I have no idea what those pirates look like I decided to draw a random fur, but he symbolizes them all! And maybe they'll never see it I wanna thank them anyway.

I know this is a bit beside the artwork itself, but the reason prices for computer games etc. are so insanely high is mainly because of piracy. It's a vicious cycle - the prices won't come down because piracy takes away a big portion of the profit from making games, music and programs. It might be a blessing for the individual, but it harms consumers as a whole.
Actually, no, it doesn't. That's a misconception that companies and the media continually perpetuate...
Sins of a Solar Empire was recently touted as the Number One Most Sold video game - and it has absolutely no copy protection.
The biggest problem that the game companies refuse to see is that they're making games that will only work on a small subset of the computers that people have - and only a subset of them will even be interested in those games... And the games that can be run on older/more common systems often lack in gameplay.
For example, Call of Duty 4 recommends a 2.4 GHz dual-core, and requires a 1.8 GHz dual-core - while my computer isn't even 3 years old with a 1.6 GHz single-core. Because my computer is only a couple years old, I most likely won't be getting a new one for quite a while - and therefore could not play that game, nor most of the new computer games, even if I wanted to.

I agree that you have a point there, at least when it comes to computer games. But what about for example audio cds? These days people rather just download mp3s from the internet instead of buying the cds. I'm not saying that Madonna couldn't afford to buy some new clothes for herself, but I do feel sorry for some of the local musicians who try to make a living when the work they do is in the end so unrewarding.
...On a sidenote, my computer is two and a half years old and I can play CoD4 just fine. I don't mean to nitpick, I don't have a dual core processor and I'm pretty sure that I couldn't get Assassin's Creed to work on my system, but when it comes to most PC games you can usually drop the eye candy and tweak the settings to at least get some idea what the game is about... Though I still hope they would make more games that don't require NASA gadgetry to make them work.
True, audio CDs and stuff like that are another case. I just think of it as backlash for companies that try this:

Oh, and at one point Wikipedia said Spore is supposed to work on Win98. So here's hoping it'll work on my laptop, too!
