I kinda took the idea from another comic too, May the Rain Come http://maytheraincome.smackjeeves.com/ .
The author had just seen a film that featured weasels as villains, and wanted to write a tale where they were the heroes.
Actually, that's kinda my only gripe about the Redwall Abbey series, all the villains are predators...
