In Sherlia canon (real) story, she is a bio weapon capable of creating antibodies when she eats infected meat. She can't create permanent through mulch-strain virus's and diseases. Though she tends to a very happy and friendly, mission always comes first. Her rules to follow of bio-warfare is...

1. Know your disease
2. Create immunity to disease immediately before exploring more.
3. Find and create cure
4. If disease is incurable to already infected, properly dispose of it.
5. Protect survivor and other units unless it affects rule 6
6. Protect yourself above all else.

Sometimes she does disobey rule 6 due to her kind nature but she always follows the "Do it for the greater good factor." so if your infected and rule 2-4 will always apply, weather friend or foe. Here we see her holding out in a house taking it cautiously while she digest a being who was carrying an infection. Probaly take a while so no need to be wearing that tight armor.

(P.S. The background was pretty vague but i'm sure deadman ment it to be some skyline in the tesla universe which is a different story line. Take it ether way, it's still an amazing pic.)
