For my Pippin, and so many other handicapped birds that have found a loving home. I think this poem is about them. :) It's written by my friend, Alison, a bird rescuer and also obviously a talented poet. Share this poem with your friends, let it warm their hearts. <3

I have had quite a few "imperfect" pets myself, mostly rats... an already unpopular pet. Two sister rats with thier tails amputated (rescue got them from a shelter, no story), a rat born with one grossly under developed eye, a rat that couldnt control his anger (until finally neutered so he could live with a temperament-compatible female), a chinchilla missing one of his hands, and several cats and dogs with life-long medical issues... currently a cat with a sever heart murmur that takes medication everyday to slow the damage to his heart, as well as a special diet because he developed an allergy to corn gluten.
