A breed of dragonkin, fire lizards are also known as flame salamanders or igneous newts. Hatchlings are often used to heat carriages, trains, and private residences. After a few decades, the juveniles, now the size of a large warhorse, are often sold to warm the cavernous halls of manor estates and palaces. Around the centennial mark, their size now rivaling ships, those that develop wings will be rotated into service with the Royal Air Corps.
