She doesn't realize how this old howler is constantly reminded of her as he goes through his normal work day. Indicator colors in the routine lab tests, and the team name for the local Northwoods Institute which he drives past, torment him. He distracts himself with other pursuits to push her from his mind. It isn't easy.
