One of my Favorite Pictures

I took this picture of Orion at 3 AM and it was black as black could be outside. But a mixture of the right shutter speed, iso, and lens speed made for a fantastic picture you wouldnt believe was taken in pitch dark.

Was the moon out to provide the light to bring out the landscape in the dark? I once took a picture like this under a moonlit sky and you'd swear it was taken in the middle of the day because everything was so clear and bright.
