The combination of shutter speed, aperture and ISO is called the "exposure triangle". It's pretty much the most basic thing you have to understand if you want to be a little more serious about photography.
It's about how the three parts play together. Like, when you keep the shutter open for a longer time you have to close the aperture (the adjustable hole in the lens that the light shines through) more to get the same amount of light onto the sensor.
It's really not that hard once you get the hang of it :3
