I'm not sure how to respond to this other than you misinterpret what I was trying to say. You really didn't have to force Wildcat City to be a standalone nation just because I compared it to Vatican City. You should develop WC more as the story/plot calls for it as world development in your stories, not because of outside criticism.
You're not a disgrace, you just have a habit of taking things out of context and misinterpreting what was really said. I was only trying to help you avoid the pitfalls that can hurt writers as far as character and world development goes, as well informing you of the Mary Sue and Deus Ex Machina terms that are often frowned upon.
I don't understand why you react to a fear of extremism with extreme actions. Well, I suppose that's not accurate. Writing a new angle into your stories really isn't extreme. But my point is, wouldn't make more sense to just have your characters relax their stringent behavior rather than move the entirety of a town to an island? I know they constantly say "they will never compromise their morals" but you have to really consider what that means. For example, it was long considered morally righteous to burn women who were suspected to be witches. It was considered morally wrong for interracial couples to marry or have children. Obviously times have changed (for most of us, anyway). Nothing you do or say is as harsh as witch burning, but there's no reason to can't reexamine your morals and stances and consider loosening them up. You can tolerate and accept that which you don't agree with without having to adhere to it. You can simply tell yourself "I don't agree with X Y and Z but that doesn't make the people who do bad people."
You're in a kind of Limbo, it seems. You want to grasp tightly to that which you've been raised on, but you clearly want others to like you and like your ideals. Honestly, it's encouraging as many with your upbringing would just write us all off as degenerates. My advice is to practice moderation, get to know more about the things you disagree with and realize that tolerance isn't the same as caving in. Are there some ideals you hold that I think should be completely caved? Absolutely, but I can't tell you what to think or how to live your life. But if you want to feel comfortable and happy with yourself in a social sense, then just take small steps to understand more. I'm sure it's hard to try to stretch beyond over two decades of what you've been taught but there's never any harm in expanding your mind, even if some people try to tell you otherwise. The simple way to look at it is, if you're so stressed about it, then something needs to change.

Indeed it does. You're right to say I'm stuck in limbo. You're right to say we all don't sing the same song or march to the same snare drum (metaphorically speaking). This whole piece was emotions getting the better of me (again), and it better not happen if ever I'm lucky to write for the market.
What a depressing story. And you are right that you and your characters are overreacting in this. I'm going to have to agree with the others that you tend to overreact to things. It seems that what Wildcat City and the G-52s in this are doing are building a wall around themselves than to listen to the other side of the views. Its nice to have morals and defend them but this, I'm afraid to say, is a fine example of overreacting.
