Pokémon Lost Silver was a good one, kinda sad though. the increasing of badges by 8 is a bit synonymous with each new region
24 badges = Advance Generation (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green)
32 badges = DS Generation (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver)
40 badges = DS Generation 2 (Black/White/Black2/White2)
also Ghost Red's Pikachu was really sad looking.
