So I figured I'd finally take a crack at an original track, composed the old school way; All hardware, all MIDI. The only way I could make it more genuine is if I made it on an old PC, but meh, close enough! FL Studio 11 works. :3
I used my Roland JP-8000 for the main lead and arpeggio, the Access Virus C for the backing synths, bassline, and pads, and the Yamaha RM1x for percussion and effects. It was quite a challenge getting everything to sound just right, but it's one of those fun and empowering challenges. If you're looking to get the old school trance sound, the best way to do it is with the hardware they used back in the day! Hence the title, Zero One, referring to 2001! Enjoy! :3
