I personally use a Cintiq 21 UX but that is out of most peoples price range. Intuos 4 and 5 work just as well though. they just dont have the wonderful comforts of a screen to draw directly onto

Yea if you right click on an empty space you can make a new brush and edit all of its properties to your liking. I did by a Brush pack from Onta from hardblush.com. I found them when i was googling for Paint tool sai brushes.
