My first creepypasta just in time for Halloween for all you babies. :P (Side note no disrespect to Sonic.exe)

While the Alchemist was off trying to find the sudden source of Auric energy, Cat went to another universe, one that Tec believed to be too dangerous so he placed her into "ghost mode" a mode that allows her to view only, disguising the whole ship as a small white hand. This is what She saw and heard.
============================================================================================================
They, they’re gone. All gone.
My name is Ash, and all my friends are gone.
How did this happen?
I can’t remember much, but I remember how it started. It was me and my friends off to meet our other friend Bill. We lived on an island. There were so many of us. Me, my friend everyone just called Bro, Mist, my sweetheart, Dexter our overly smart friend. Some of their friends whose names I can no longer remember. And a few others. Charlie? Pikora? Squirt? I can’t remember anymore. I lived in Palville and Mist lived in Cerud city, that’s all I can remember.
We set off from our home to Bill’s cabin out in the woods, for a large group such as ours it would take about two days to get there walking along the back paths, we didn’t use the main road as none of us could drive. It was getting late on the first day so we decided to make camp. We set up the tents, and everyone went to bed, except for me, Bro, and Mist. We sat up around the fire telling ghost stories.
“....and then the brother turned around and on his bed he saw a Sonic Plushie!” Bro had said.
“Lame.” Mist said. “Really? Sonic.exe? That’s the best you could come up with?” we all shared a small laugh. We heard a small rustling.
“Hey what’s that!?” asked Mist, slightly startled, probably by the story then the sudden sound. We looked where she was pointing, and we saw the bushes were moving. Suddenly a weird creature came out of the bush, some kinda big bug, and it looked like it had mold on its back. It also had very small pupils.
“AHHH!” Mist screamed, she always hated bugs. The bug ran away at the scream, and thankfully it only woke up Dexter. We asked him if he had ever seen the bug before as he sent a lot of time out in these woods, but while he said the bug sounds familiar, the mold did not.
“I am not going to be able to sleep with bugs that big crawling around!” said Mist. So we decided to calm her down by taking night guard shifts to make sure it didn’t come back. I would take the first, Bro the second, Dexter the third. That seemed to calm her down enough, so she went to the tents to get some shut eye. The night passed uneventfully, and we continued on in the morning.
We had finally arrived at Bill’s cabin but something was odd, the lights were off. Admittedly it’s not too odd, considering he had a small garden behind his house and was probably just out there. We approached his door, but...
It was open.
Not fully open, but just slightly ajar, and there was a red stain on the ground. Was that blood?
Bro and Charlie noticed that too, we told Mist and the others to stand back, we kicked the door down, but I regret that. The first thing I noticed was Bill’s corpse on the ground in the center of the cabin. What’s more, there was no blood. I was horrified. Mist gave out a faint gasp. That’s when I noticed what caused it. Standing over Bill was a larger version of the bug from before, I couldn’t help but notice that the mold on its back looked thicker. A...and it had no pupils.
It turned, and lunged at us. It missed, but we decided to run.
We ran as fast as we could towards the main road, about halfway there however the damn bug was getting too close. That’s when I noticed Squirt. He turned and punted the thing over a bush. We continued to run onto the road. Not even looking back anymore to see if it was still following us.
Once we arrived at the road we noticed there were cops setting up a roadblock there.
“Halt!” The chief officer said. “We cannot permit you to go through here without inspection!”
“Look,” I said, “ma’am I’m sorry, but we are running away from a bug that killed our friend. Please let us through!”
She looked afraid. “A bug?! You two,” she points at two cops, “go stand guard, we don’t want those bugs to come near here!” They run a little up the road. “As for you kids, we must inspect each one of you. Once done, get into that police bus over there, we will escort you to town.”
We allow her and the other cops to do so, it was a full body search, they didn’t find what they were looking for on most of us. They did however on Squirt.
“Officer Jen!” said the cop looking over Squirt, “Found one!”
“That the only one?”
“Yes.”
“You know what to do.”
“I know,” he said turning to Squirt, pulling out a gun, “I’m sorry.” he then took the gun and shot Squirt!
Mist gasped.
“Why did you kill my friend?!” I asked.
“He was infected.” said Officer Jen.
“Infected?”
“I’ll explain on the way.”
As she drove us back to town, she explained what was going on. That bug and it’s fungus were a parasite. The bug would drink the blood of it’s victims, but if the prey managed to get away, then the fungus would spread to the lost prey, should they have come in contact. This would give the victim who had the fungus on them the same characteristics as the bug, loss of memory, making them thirst for blood, loss of eyesight, and in turn pupils, highly aggressive, and able to spread the fungus. They had killed Squirt in order to prevent the spread of the mold. The fungus was alive. It commanded the insects. Not only would it attack humans and animals, but it would also infect plants, slowly but surely rotting them away, turning trees and grass into nothing but dust.
As we sat there in silence I heard Mist weep a small prayer for Squirt, the rest of us just sat there trying to digest what had just happened, until we heard a voice on the radio.
“Breaking news, our island is being overrun by the strange parasites, all ships have left the southern port, several towns including Cerud city, and Palville have been completely overrun. Cinnamon Island refuses even birds to come close to it before they are shot out of the sky. Fishing has been dubbed dangerous, all fish must be charred to a crisp before brought near towns, and the fishermen will need to be inspected. The Saffor city in the center of our island is the last place of completely uninfected persons here, all units are to continue the search for survivors then report there immediately.”
“Damn.” said Jen.
“Palville...” I said meekly.
“My family!” said Mist. Poor girl she was having the hardest time of us all.
We didn’t pass through Cerud city, we went around it, Saffor City is directly south of Cerud City, we were about halfway there, but we needed to pass through a forest, there was no road.
“Alright everyone get out of the bus, I need to go searching for more survivors, all of you head straight south to Saffor City.”
We did as she said and begin to continue on towards Saffor City on foot.
The air was thicker than the woods themselves, it was a hot summer’s day. What was worse is we were all tired from our ordeal.
That’s when Mist heard something. It jumped from a bush, it was one of those bugs! We ran as fast as we could. Suddenly five more came out of nowhere and began to chase us. We weren’t going to make it.
Then Bro turned around. He and his friends all turned around.
“We are going to hold them off.”
“Are you crazy?!”
“Either just we go or all of us will.” with that they ran off towards the bugs.
The rest of us kept running, but then it became apparent that Bro hadn’t made it, as the bugs caught up with us again. This time it was Mist’s friends who turned. We didn’t try to argue with them they just ran after the bugs.
They caught up with us yet again. we began to fear no one will survive. Charlie and Pikora decided to fight this time. They were the strongest and fastest of us.
Mist and I managed to get away, only for me to notice Dexter was missing.
It was at this point where Mist collapsed, and began to cry.
I told her to get up, as the bugs would be here soon, and she needed only to go over one more hill to reach Saffor city.
“.....! Ash!” she said. Pointing at me.
I looked down only to see my arm had some of that mold on it.
“Mist run, get to town, and forget about me okay?! Just run!” she ran away from me. I walked over to a tree and sat down.
So here I am, about to die. I’m infected, and soon I’ll be nothing more than one of those mindless bugs.
A bush rustled. It was him, poking his head out. My oldest friend, how could I forget his name and say it wrong all this time. Pikora? Bah. I noticed he had thick mold and tiny mushrooms on his back. I decided to greet him one more time, before I passed.
“Oh, hello there Pikachu.”
