Some people step around a corner and find overwhelming numbers of hostile entities and react with shock and a smidge of fear. Others approach the situation with gusto. Let's see if we can figure out which one is which? Kit merely has a pair of large rotary assault cannons that, if not for her bionic appendages, would likely put her on her ass. Chaz has a large, armored mech packed to the gills with all kinds of horrifically destructive goodies. Notice how neither of these factors seem to affect the reaction

Only if Chaz buckles down and gets to work.
Cowards don't win. They die alone and forgotten, long after all ability and desire for greatness (that once could have so easily been theirs) is gone. Or they expose everyone on their team to danger, getting themselves and all their friends killed in the process.
Kit may die young, but she will be remembered: Children will be named for her, her name will adorn monuments and history books for centuries to come. More likely, she will survive and pull her team through whatever shit lies ahead. Either way, she will inspire future generations with her courage and fortitude, thereby enabling them to survive in situations where those who run are gunned down at leisure.

Ephialtes thought as you did.
Aristodemus did not, but because he turned back (while the blind Eurytus died in battle), he was subjected to humiliation and disgrace for the rest of his days... and is all but forgotten, while roughly three-hundred of his companions are still remembered to this day, nearly 2500 years later.

The left one is more sexy to me... maybe that's cause of the strict mechanical nature, or the smaller, more petite chest... or even the lack of an armour or life-support suit... hell, could be the dangerous confidence held in her eyes...
Either way... this is freaking NICE for me to have been able to feel/describe all of that...
