Take one horse, add a kayak, blend with bright sun, cool breezes, hot coffee and a beautiful local bay. Serve immediately, enjoy!

Okay, so it's not really a 'recipe,' but it WAS my first time kayaking EVER and it was amazing! The Los Alamitos bay is adjacent to a bike trail I frequent, and I've seen this area from the shore many times. Last Sunday, however, I got a sea-level look and it's completely different. Stunning green water, a pod of dolphins, a wetlands area in which I could paddle up to a massive shoal of mussels (or some such shellfish), 'racing' with fellow kayak enthusiasts and prepping for my next big adventure on the water.

Building a kayak? Why...yes, I am considering it. ^~^
