Selected spreads from my children's book project, Donkey Daydreams. These are in order, but note the page numbers. The topmost spread is the first bits of the actual story, but there's a lot missing here. As of now this and the covers are the only completed, colored artwork in the whole book. The rest of it is just black and white lineart; enough to know what's going on, but unrefined. I'm not going to upload the whole thing because it needs a few more edits and I may try submitting it to publishers in the future... or not!

I hate being a neigh sayer.
I think your story needs some more editing. Page four has no flow to it. The five sentences have nothing that brings them together as one concept. If that is a good example of the entire book some more work is needed to have a good story flow.
I have a question. Is "On second thought" a theme of the story? If it is not I hope you did not go over board using it. You could use other words that says the same thing but not be using the same three words over and over so it wont sound like a broken record. When I write I sometimes catch my self repeating something over and over and have to come up with new ways of saying the same thing.
I hope that you take this as beneficial criticism.
I think your art work is wonderful for a child's book.

oooo, let me have a shot?
"There once was a donkey, clip-cloppity-clop
he trotted and frotted across the desert. Such sand!
a hot, dry, place, but to him a nice, warm rest.
Out of the orange, a brown coyote stumbled
'hey donkey, do my fangs do scare you?' he asked the donkey
'no not really!' the donkey said 'but I do fear the dark'
But a gaze to his back, oh was he so awash!
A great big lizard, with fists ready to bash!
'Perhaps, maybe, on second thought"
said the poor donkey
'I'm not only scared of where darkness was brought"

This is so freaking adorable!! I wish I could have seen the rest of it, because it's so unbearably precious! I was hoping to make a children's book too at some point in the future (Well, I guess I technically already have made one, but it hardly counts because I'm not super good yet, and it's a black and white coloring book that to my knowledge has never been colored by anyone). My sister came up with a story about snails that I was going to try to illustrate with digital paintings if I can get good enough at making them. But it's not just about art, though - your... characters... are so freakingSKJSDLjk loveable!! Here and in the comic too! Seeing all of your stuff for the first time this past week... I cannot believe how awesome you are!
