I'm very glad you think so. i spent far too long over that hair and pose. Not to mention getting the first eight seconds of that song embedded in my head forever.
They actually had an interview with him the other day. He seems bemused by it all. (And refuses to try and cash in on it, because "No one likes their parent trying to join in on the joke"). Classy guy.

Au Contrair, Beachfox.
You got the pose and the hair just right. Therefore, you spend *exactly* as much time on them as you needed. Trust me, I know all about overworking a creation to death. You certainly didn't do that here.
I also liked the song when it first came out. But that standard-issue drum-machine they had for *every* American dance songs during that period has gotten somewhat on my nerves, since.

"that tend to... stand out more now than they did at the time"
Isn't that diplomatic?
I had a friend at the time who simply loved Donna Summers' "This Time I Know It's For Real", another popish dance tune, which upon reflection was probably written by the same person what wrote Rick's now-infamous ditty. While a lovely song and certainly period, that tune now also gets old quickly.

I try to be. It's the same reason why I tend to keep my iTunes on constant shuffle. Listening to the same band three or four songs in a row tends to make all the music blur together. The similarities between them quickly outpace the differences.

Well, there was this earlier meme called "Rabbit Rolled" where you got randomly linked to a video of a rabbit on some wheeled thing rolling around. Then someone did a "Rick Roll" instead. I think the utter randomness of it all is part of the experiance. It is for me, at least.
It's a take-off on the classic Rick-Roll meme/prank http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickroll But turned into a picture for April Fools.
