hah, it's a nerdy modification of " I'll take that with a grain of salt" ft^3 is a shortened way of saying a foot cubed. meaning he is doubtful

Thank for the answer ! the ft3 was too much for google it wasn't able to bring me something related with the sentence without ft3. Idiomatic expression are impossible to understand when unknown.
