Weakest Link (A Poem)

A quiz show like no other
With a premise like no other.
A show with a negative outlook
Instead of a positive one.

Answering questions as a team
And banking to save the cash.
Getting questions wrong and losing money,
And risking being disgraced.

A host that is openly hostile
Instead of polite towards the players.
Players who give reasons for other players
Disgracing their peers on TV.

Then comes the hard part:
Voting off the worst player.
The worst player may or may not
Get chosen to leave with zero.

Sometimes they’ll vote the best player out
Because they think he or she’s a threat.
Sometimes they know who the worst is
And give them what they deserve.

The host’s rude remarks
Are what made this show a hit.
It’s no wonder they call her
The “Queen of Mean.”

One by one, the players vote,
And then get voted off.
And then they hear these dreaded words:
“You are the weakest link! Goodbye!”
